Why we built Ootsav
It started with a wedding in Bengaluru — 14 WhatsApp groups, 3 spreadsheets, and one very stressed family. Every Indian celebration — whether a 500-guest shaadi in Mumbai, a birthday in Chennai, or a college reunion in Delhi — involves a mountain of coordination. Guest lists in spreadsheets, forwards on WhatsApp groups, RSVPs lost in chat threads, and no way to track who is coming to the Mehendi vs. the Reception.
We built Ootsav to replace the chaos with one simple, free event planner app. An app that sends personalized invites on WhatsApp from a real +91 number, tracks RSVPs automatically, manages sub-events for every ritual, and works for every kind of Indian celebration — from pujas and housewarmings to team offsites and alumni reunions.

Yes. Ootsav works in every Indian city — Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Kolkata, and everywhere else. As long as your guests have WhatsApp or a web browser, they can receive invites and RSVP.
Ootsav is free for every host with no guest limits, no feature gates, and no hidden charges. The core app will always remain free. In the future, we plan to offer optional premium services for wedding vendors and event professionals — but hosts will never pay.
Ootsav currently supports English and Hindi. The invitation cards and event details you share work in any language you type — so you can write your event descriptions in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, or any language your guests understand.
